Varaluz 375P03CBHG
Nico, the German singer, songwriter, musician and model inspired many, including some the 1980s most prolific alternative music artists. Today, she is a source of inspiration for the designers at Varaluz. Known as the ''original goth,'' she fought convention in creating her music and performances - much the same way Varaluz approaches lighting design. Our Nico fixtures capture the spirit of more traditional (bird) cage fixtures but with a dose of infinity looping. It''s goth by way of glam, finished in black with gold accents on the lighting and suspended by chain and a single removable stem.

We handcraft light fixtures and furniture out of eco-friendly materials. Some people might find what we do a bit extreme…glass shades made of recycled bottles? Fixtures made of recycled steel? Sure thing. We are continually developing new ways of using recycled, reclaimed, natural, and sustainable materials into our fixtures. To us, it just makes sense. There is a bit too much waste in the world, and upcycling yields some pretty darn cool results. We take these responsible materials and craft fixtures the old-fashioned way with the very skilled hands of our artistic team in the Philippines.
